However, I have this problem when it comes to buying things. I have the tendency to overthink. While I'm not destitute, I have a limited budget, and somehow buying things scares me. I always think things like, what if I have an emergency next month and I regret buying this? I also have a problem with deal watching. I'll see an item on sale, but somehow convince myself it'll be even cheaper at some point in the future. I'll miss the deal and then kick myself afterwards for not taking advantage of it when it was available.
But this week I added PopDeal to my tabbed start pages in Firefox (one of the great features of Firefox; being able to have more than one page open at startup). PopDeal is a lot like Popurls, but instead of the latest headlines and items from popular internet sites, it delivers the best deals from around the web.
First I found the headphones on sale for $12.99 with a coupon for $3 off and free shipping (deal is still good until the 15th, so jump on it if you want them). Voila, headphones for $9.99. Then I found a simple set of Creative speakers for $10.76 over at Amazon. And lucky me, when I went to check out, I received a free three month trial of Amazon Prime, so I got free 2 day shipping. But the best deal so far is the Western Digital 500 GB external hard drive I got from Buy.com for $210, shipped. Now I can resume downloading until my heart's content. ;-)
