PC World
Probably one of my favorite sites on the web is PC World. I've been a longtime subscriber to the magazine, and the online content of the magazine is very good. I use the website a lot, to follow up on the articles I read in the magazine, to research stuff I'm interested in buying, and to look for useful freeware programs. However, the site design over at PC World leaves a little to be desired. It's somewhat cluttered and looks very html 4, if you know what I mean.
But apparently, that's soon to change. I received a promotional e-mail from PC World about a week ago, showcasing their upcoming redesign of the site. You can see it here. It looks nice. Not only is it more web 2.0 looking, it will feature some new functionality as well, including the ability to personalize the homepage according to your interests and save articles for future reference. At the preview, you can sign up to be alerted when PC World's new look debuts.
