At The Box Office
I received my Regal Crown Club newsletter today, and there are a few movies coming up that I'm very interested in seeing.
Number one on my list is The Da Vinci Code. I've read the bestselling novel by Dan Brown and loved it, so I'm looking forward to the movie. If you visit the movie website, it's full of interesting stuff including puzzles, pictures, wallpapers (which you can only get to by solving the gallery puzzle), and other tidbits. See the trailers.
Another film I'm really wanting to see is An American Haunting. I love scary films, and this looks like one that actually has an interesting plot other than gore and mayhem. The film is based on the famous and well documented "Bell Witch" haunting that took place in Tenessee in the early 1800's. In 1817, farmer John Bell and his family were terrorized by a female spirit. It especially liked to torment Bell himself and his youngest daughter, Betsy. After three years of torment, John Bell was found poisoned in his bed, and the spirit, which by now had a voice, claimed responsibility. It is the only case where someone is "documented" to have been killed by a spirit. However dubious this claim may be, you can still visit the old Bell homestead in Adams, Tenessee, where people claim to experience strange events to this day. The film looks good, and it has Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek in it. I've been long time fans of both. The website for the movie is also well done, although for some odd reason I can only open it in Internet Explorer, not in Firefox. But the site features information on the real Bell Witch haunting, a synopsis of the movie, trailers, wallpapers, and even links to other sites that discuss the well-documented case. See the trailers for An American Haunting.
