Shove Off, Martha
She's pretty amazing. A couple of weeks ago, she made an entire Thanksgiving dinner to feed eight people in 60 minutes. The cool thing was that there was no magic involved in this undertaking. She really made me believe that if I followed what she did, I too could pull off an absolute feast in an hour.
I have a special fondness for Rachael Ray. Not only does she make great food that normal mortals with limited time and tastebuds not reared in Wolfgang Puck's kitchen might actually want to eat, she's from Rochester, NY. That's not too far from where I was raised (Syracuse, NY). For me watching her show is like being home again. Her accent, her plain-folks mannerisms, her liberal use of NY state grown ingredients, it all reminds me of where I grew up. I like North Carolina, but it'll never be NY.
